Pinus thunbergii ‘Ogon’

Pinus thunbergii ‘Ogon’ (jap. gold) – interesting variation of yellow Japanese black pine;

  • loose, wide-conical habit, 
  • quite fast growth rate – reaches 4 m after 10 years, 
  • long, firm, light-green needles. From autumn until spring they turn yellow,
  • requires permeable, slightly acidic soils,
  • should planted in sunlit positions, 
  • grows well in lee positions, 
  • good for home and oriental gardens or as a solitary tree, 
  • -25 C frost resistance.
