Pinus x schwerinii ‘Wiethorst’

Pinus x schwerinii ‘Wiethorst’ – one of the most interesting pine;

  • wide-conical, compact habit, 
  • moderate growth rate, after 10 years reaches about 2 metres height, 
  • long, very soft, blue-green needles, 
  • ornate cones occur even on young plants, 
  • requires humous, permeable and slightly sour soils, 
  • planted in oriental gardens, parks and as a solitaire tree. 

Very often planted in home gardens. Variation was found in Germany in 1987.
