Pinus thunbergii ‘Shirome Janome’

Pinus thunbergii ‘Shirome Janome’ – interesting, bicolor, Japanese variation of Japanese black pine;

  • conical habit,
  • reaches 2 meters height and 1 meter width in 10 years,
  • bicolor, striped needles; dark-green and light-yellow (oculus draconis effect),
  • does not have soil requirements,
  • for sunlit positions,
  • perfect for collector’s gardens as well as oriental, home gardens and as a solitaire tree.

In the first years of cultivation it needs to be protected from frost and winter winds. Older specimens endure Polish climate.
