Pinus strobus ‘Horsford’

Pinus strobus ‘Horsford’ – variation of eastern white pine of spherical habit;

  • grows very slowly – after 10 years reaches 80 cm,
  • soft, green-blue needles,
  • demands permeable soils,
  • good for sunlit and partly shaded positions,
  • recommended for home garden, rockery and container cultivation.

Looks particularly attractive grafted onto the trunk. Found c.1960 as a seedling by William Horsford in the USA.
