Pinus contorta ‘Spaan’s Dwarf’ – original variation of lodgepole pine;

  • spherical, dwarf habit,
  • slow-growth – yearly increase of 12 cm,
  • short, dark-green needles,
  • tolerant plant, grows well in moderate soils,
  • requires sunlit positions,
  • recommended for oriental and home gardens, rockeries as well as for containers and balconies.

Variation found in Washington in the USA by Jon Spaan. Tolerates well shaping – suitable for making a Bonsai tree.
