Pinus contorta ‘Spaan’s Dwarf’ – original variation of lodgepole pine;
- spherical, dwarf habit,
- slow-growth – yearly increase of 12 cm,
- short, dark-green needles,
- tolerant plant, grows well in moderate soils,
- requires sunlit positions,
- recommended for oriental and home gardens, rockeries as well as for containers and balconies.
Variation found in Washington in the USA by Jon Spaan. Tolerates well shaping – suitable for making a Bonsai tree.
