Picea abies ‘Rydal’

Picea abies ‘Rydal’ – unique variation of Norway spruce with red tree-increments;

  • conical habit, 
  • grows up to one meter in 10 years,
  • green needles, 
  • characteristic feature is a spring, red tree-increment  that lasts up to three weeks, 
  • tolerant plant – recommended for sunlit and s partly shaded positions, 
  •  often planted in home gardens, colorful arrangements, groups and parks.  

Picea abies ‘Rydal’ differs from Picea abies ‘Cruenta’ by growth rate. ‘Rydal’ grows much slower and red tree-increment sustains longer with ‘Rydal’.
